BD is a geologist who likes to look for precious metals in exotic locations AND imitate jungle birds. Since most exotic locations include a bit of jungle it's pretty much a win-win situation for him.
He also makes comics, sometimes about science, but mostly about cows, animals, and time travel for reasons he can't explain.
